A 33 year-old North Carolina woman was arrested by officers from the Clearwater Police Department.  The arrest took place in the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 7, 2015 at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort on Clearwater Beach.

According to arrest documentation, Roseanna Maria Kiser booked a one night stay at the Resort.  It was reported that she became intoxicated, engaged in disorderly conduct and battered a child in the pool area Monday night at approximately 9:45 PM.

Several young children, who she did not know, were swimming and playing in the pool at the Resort.  She became angry at one of the children because he was splashing water near her.  At the time, she was reportedly intoxicated and drinking directly from a bottle of vodka.  She poured vodka directly into the eyes and face of a 7 year-old child.  She then grabbed him around the chest pushing him away and into the pool.  Ms. Kiser was not related to the child.

Management of the resort was notified and contacted Clearwater Police for assistance in removing her from the property.  The manager along with officers went up to Kiser’s room at about 12:27 AM.  The manager informed her that the Resort no longer desires to entertain her as a guest and requested she leave at once.

Kiser refused to gather her belongings and vacate the room despite the repeated threat of arrest.  During her arrest she displayed, “aggressive physical resistance by striking the arresting officer in the head, neck and chest with her elbows.”  At one point, Kiser was violently kicking her legs and struck one officer in the groin.  She was eventually handcuffed and booked into the Pinellas County Jail.  She was released on $12,750 bond on June 8, 2016.

Kiser is facing charges of

Child Abuse
Battery on a law enforcement officer
Failure to leave a public service establishment
Resisting an officer with violence
