The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is investigating a Serious Crash Involving two vehicles and a bicyclist.

The crash occurred on the Dunedin Causeway east of the drawbridge at about 7:14 pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2016.

According to investigators, 45 year-old Matthew Collman, the driver of a 2016 Honda Odyssey minivan was traveling westbound on Causeway Boulevard. He reportedly crossed the center-line sideswiping Joseph Harris, who was traveling in a 1999 Ford F-150 truck which was towing a flatbed trailer.

According to the preliminary report from the PCSO, after hitting the trailer, the Odyssey struck a guard rail sending flying debris which struck the bicyclist, 44 year-old Tanya Dubay.  She was traveling westbound on the south side of Causeway Boulevard.

Dubay was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg via helicopter with what investigators are calling non-life threatening injuries.

Harris was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital for minor injuries.

Collman was reported to have fled the scene immediately following the crash and headed westbound on foot.  Deputies continued to search for him utilizing the “Eagle” and searching in each vehicle heading backing onto the mainland.

Deputies announced that Matthew Collman was arrested about 11 PM but provided no details about the location of his arrest. Collman had minor injuries and was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.

Collman was charged with two felony counts of leaving the scene of a crash involving injury.

Investigators do not believe that speed was a factor in the crash.

IONTB still does not have access to booking photos from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s Gualtieri continues his poorly enacted restriction on booking photo availability.  More and more of the sites that he intended to shut down have instant access and continue to exploit those arrested.  Click HERE for more information.
